A significant aspect of Alasdair’s work involves devising exciting and innovative programmes, which he presents to audiences of all ages, with international orchestras. With original themes relating to subjects as diverse as sport, magic, puppetry, pirates and food, Alasdair has introduced music to hundreds of thousands of people worldwide.

His relaxed and conversational style of presentation incorporates a perfect balance between audience interaction, strong visual elements and more serious moments assigned purely for listening and experiencing the music. By linking each programme to a subject, Alasdair leads the audience on an adventure through many musical styles, demonstrating the amazing and surprising sounds of the orchestra. This winning combination has led to a highly successful global career. As well as working with the main UK orchestras Alasdair frequently presents concerts across Europe with orchestras such as the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg and Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte Carlo. He regularly performs in Asia and made his US debut in October 2010 with the Charlotte Symphony.

Alasdair has tailored his programmes to function with varying ensemble sizes, from full symphony orchestra to chamber orchestra and chamber ensemble. In addition to working with orchestras Alasdair is also able to present his much-loved programmes with his own 12 piece group, Alasdair Malloy’s Concert Party.

Alasdair arranges much of the repertoire for his much-loved family concerts, with each programme presenting a carefully selected list of works tailored to each engagement.
